Go for the New Cheese
In Spencer Johnson's bestseller book "Who Moved My Cheese" it is stated that "Noticing small change early helps you adapt to the larger changes that are to come."
One might have hoped that by this time the volume of changes related to computers would be slowing down, but instead they seem to be accellerating. Look at Microsoft's Office suite. We had three years between Office 97 and Office 2000, then only two years to Office XP, followed only one year later by Office 2003. Will they start including the month in the title?
Yet each version has new features, and revisions to the interface, so missing one version gives you twice as much change to catch up on and adapt to.
